Thinking of that time when my dad, himself a doctor, was thrown by a horse on a trail ride. Punctured his spleen, internal bleeding, got him to an ER just in time. He lived another 20 years. With two hours delay, probably wouldn't have.

We rushed to *nearest* ER. Not comparison-shop for ER prices.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

i've been thinking about this for a few weeks, and i really think that (1) after Trump, the Times freaked out believing they had lost touch with middle America, and (2) attempting to correct course, they lost touch with liberal America, too.

Can confirm this email is authentic — and about nothing in it is true.

Social Security income is still taxed. This bill does nothing to change that.

It’s willful disinformation on the part of SSA. It’s a lie.
Hi, I think a lot of us received e-mails from SSA saying that social security will no longer be taxed - and that somehow there is "enhanced deductions" (how much enhancement can you make to 0?) for those over 65. What part, if any, of this is true? Thank you!

CLARIFICATION :

The Trevor Project's hotline will still be live. But basically this means LGBTQ people can no longer be connected to it through the US national 988 suicide prevention hotline.

They will need to be contacted DIRECTLY

So spread this around

They can be texted. They can be called.

“The platforms were no longer social, in any meaningful sense of the word, but rather centralized and exercising constant (algorithmic) editorial discretion.”

Thought this piece was quite astute 👇
Since the early 2010s, social media has been identified with protesters. In the early days, social media was an effective tool for activists to organize and communicate with one another and directly with the public, providing counternarratives to the ones laid out in popular coverage.
