Pew Research Institute (2023):

• Red State Texas has about 2.1 million undocumented immigrants

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.

Renee Good took her dog with her to drop her son off at school. And then she was shot in the face by an ICE agent working for Trump!
She was NOT A DOMESTIC TERRORIST! She was a normal mom doing a school run before she got caught up in an ICE traffic stop.

👇I believe ICE is antagonizing citizens to riot so Trump can send in his private army to control all of us. We can't let that happen.

I’m going to read this later because I’m curious around the framing of a “new” defense because from the outside looking in I’ve seen none aside from those led by the marginalized groups they’re targeting.
"In every society fallen to authoritarianism, the state goes after the press first+ closes in on universities next.
All of us who live, work,+learn within the university should think of our institution as part of the larger constitutional structure of the nation."

Universities Need a New Defense
The authoritarian threat is growing. The old playbook won’t work.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
The supposed “centrists” have become inured, radicalized even, by the wave of bigoted invective from the radical right. This wave has targeted trans ppl, yes, but also ppl of color, women, immigrants, domestic critics, ppl with disabilities. Americans.

You’re not a “centrist” when u wave aside hate
If you point out that you think a section of the population being targeted like this is bad, the sensible centrists will accuse you of being a single issue voter, that removing rights from a chunk of society is a niche interest and you'll be told "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good"

Trump attempted to overturn a free and fair election and incited an insurrection. And the American people deserve to know what Jack Smith’s investigation found.

Democrats will keep pushing for transparency even as Republicans try to cover it up.

Dershowitz is also totally wrong about how this works. House can only pick somebody who’s in the top three from the Electoral College. A candidate’s electors all abstaining, even setting aside how state binding laws wouldn’t let them do that, would mean they’re not eligible in a contingent election.
Chris, this asshole. The vote in the house is called a "contingent election." Just fuck you you fucking clown.
