It’s depressing how today’s movies and shows think the audience is so stupid. This character just spelled out the entire plot while talking to a dog. A pretext to erase all doubt about what is the most trite, obvious storyline in written language.

should be
"...they shared thus far..."

HAD is an odiously passive word that ruins a sentence & a manuscript. *shudder*
Amateur writers overuse the word HAD. Rid yourself of that word. It is a passive word. One writer used it three times in one sentence. I closed the book & shelved it under DNF.

This is the institutionalization of Turning Point's professor watchlist. It invites mass harassment and declares war on independent ideas. If unlearned sociopaths can influence your teaching through threats, academic freedom is essentially dead.
It’s the entire point. There’s no plan to make this meaningful for students. No plan to use it administratively. Its design and implementation signals its only real intent. It’s best and easiest use case is for systematic harassment and to scare faculty into complying in advance.
We know the students don’t read the syllabuses. So who will? Right-wing activists looking for excuses to hound profs.

When we say "no, everything hasn't been digitized," I need you to understand that we really mean is that virtually nothing has been digitized. This is because the realm of primary sources that historians use is incomprehensibly large.

I like that Dalgliesh is gothic & less domesticated. Bertie Carvel's portrayal is fabulous. The juxtaposition of the compassionate erudite lead detective (who is also a poet) versus the asshole junior detective is interesting—obvious but interesting. I like it. Assholes need more mirrors.
Starting Dalgliesh. Another misogynist male detective as the asshole sidekick partner.
