An ICE officer murdered a woman in cold blood who was clearly trying to drive away.

And yet Tricia McLaughlin and Stephen Miller are speciously trying to blame the victim.

ICE must be reined in and the officer must be held to account.

Rubio is claiming that they did not need Congress permission because it was a law enforcement mission. The US is behaving as a global police state, extending its own arbitrary legal decisions to the whole world.

This is not a problem just for Venezuela.

Muting a Black woman to claim the vote was unanimous is so incredibly on the nose
The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

When people say to vote for Republicans and Trump is to vote against your own interests, this seems like a pretty good example of what that likely means.

real police state stuff
WOW. @haleaziz.bsky.social with a new scoop: ICE now gets a running list of every person who is going to be taking a domestic flight inside the United States from the TSA and runs it through their database looking for targets. This explains the Babson College student's arrest.

Trump threatened to pull the state's federal funding, he sent Vance there multiple times, his allies (including his son) are currently threatening to oust all the Republicans who rebuked him, and he's already sicced his goons on these lawmakers, bringing them countless death threats. But ok.

WOW. So this is obviously a huge violation of this man's rights, and it illustrates a few things we're seeing broadly:

- DHS officers are ignoring peoples' IDs and instead requiring screening through their own systems
- Confirms @404media.co's reports of use of DHS's facial recognition app.

I'm so grateful for Kelly's leadership on this and I think he's doing a good job keeping up the pressure on Trump.

But, Democrats always say things like "Trump doesn't understand the constitution" when they should say "Trump opposes the constitution."
Sen. Kelly: “This is about a president who doesn't want anybody to say anything that he does not like. I don't think he understands the Constitution. I think he is ignorant to the Constitution and the rule of law…This isn't about me. This is about what he will do next.”
