I've met Iranians all over the world & they've been some of the most sophisticated, resourceful & creative people I've ever encountered, with an extraordinary lineage of literature, music & cinema. Let them shake off the yoke of the illegitimate, reactionary theocracy that has so long oppressed them
Long live the great and courageous people of Iran, inheritors of an ancient civilization that has endured tyranny and conquest — and will outlive the Islamic Republic.

Today the Pentagon censured Senator Mark Kelly and moved to strip part of his earned military retirement benefits for stating the truth.

This administration is trying to convince Americans that truth is whatever it says it is—even when the evidence is plainly in front of us.

Yeah, this feels like a zero-risk protest for liberals. Anecdotally I know plenty who won't go to the KC until Trump is gone, then will come running back to watch his name taken off.

In the meantime, if the KC loses $$$... what, does Trump demolish the building he put his name on?
This is not hard. Artists are not responsible for ensuring the Kennedy Center remains relevant and successful. The center’s board is responsible for that, in a fiduciary way. All of this energy being directed at artists should be re-directed at the board.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

I don't do much looking back at my own writing, but I've been thinking about this piece a lot today. From tenderly protecting Trump from criminal consequences to enthusiastically helping him dismantle the administrative state, Roberts owns it all.

you can't have a governable city if you're just constantly re-litigating major infrastructure decisions made by voters. it's just complete chaos, ensures continued acrimony, and deprives businesses and families of the ability to plan.

it's a fundamentally unserious *and undemocratic* way to exist.

Been ranting to folks for a year now about how fucking obvious it’s been forever that the only way for Dems to break through in this media environment is to curse more and — how bout that! — this broke through the noise.
The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.
