Our tax dollars are paying this asshole’s salary.
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

Yes, JD. Let’s ask them if they think a stay at home mom, avowed Christian, and widow of a veteran deserved to be shot in the face and left to bleed out in her own car after dropping her 6-year-old off at school, for the crime of looking out for her neighbors. Let’s ask everyone running for office.

"who may not have your best interest at heart" This. Anyone who puts a camera in your face wants to make you a spectacle. They want to profit from your face, your words. They want to present you AS something and then use that to their gain.

Absolutely true, and somehow not-discussed point:

The US **ALREADY** has all the strategic advantages it could gain by "owning" Greenland. Through treaties and (until now) close NATO cooperation w Denmark

The US has a naval base & 'space force' base there. You see USAF planes at Grndlnd airports
The thing that’s so dumb about this is that there’s nothing legitimate about the strategic importance of Greenland that the US doesn’t get through existing alliances. Denmark isn’t impeding US strategic interests. It’s about them wanting to increase US land area by 20%.
Joint European statement on Greenland. They moved quickly after Miller’s comments about annexation last night.

The cynics think today's attack on Venezuela is staged and transactional. Maduro is allied with Putin, but in 2019 Putin offered Trump a swap: Russia cedes Venezuela and gets Ukraine. (See Fiona Hill's testimony in Trump's first impeachment trial, h/t @davetroy.com). Even Maduro may be in on it. 2/

The devastation I feel about this attack on science in particular is hard to cope with. It’s like watching my dad die all over again. I would do anything to spare someone a death via pancreatic cancer.
A tiny trial in New York has shown that personalized mRNA vaccines can provoke massive, lasting immune responses against pancreatic cancer, even as sweeping federal cuts now threaten the fragile labs required to produce them.

So many social welfare programs act as subsidies for corporations. Their profits are literally paid by our tax dollars. The mountains of wealth they have accumulated and hoarded could only exist by stealing it from the workers.
The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

After bragging about permanently cutting "Democrat programs," Trump says "we're not closing up Republican programs."

Do I have that right?

The GOP has done nothing on healthcare in the 21st century other than stop Dems from improving it. Literally nothing.
Mike Johnson: "Let me look right into the camera and tell you very clearly: Republicans are the ones concerned about healthcare. Republicans are the party working around the clock everyday to fix healthcare. This is not talking points for us: we've done it."

I know political memories are short, but damn! In July, Schiff joined Republicans to pass the industry-friendly crypto bill that allowed Trump to take in more crypto bribes.
While Americans are struggling with higher prices, the President is focused on enriching himself and his family.

You look at this and have to ask yourself – is there any level of corruption so egregious that Republicans would call it out?

Evidently not.

I really don’t have words to describe how incandescently angry I am at Trump’s hosting of Putin. It spits in the face of every American who ever fought against tyranny, it’s an obscene affront to our allies, and the only reason it’s not treason is that we’re not actively at war with Russia.

An I the only person alarmed that the U.S. military thinks a “show of presence” of heavily armed soldiers in a park in Los Angeles where kids play soccer is just fine and dandy?
Military documents confirm that the LA operation today was a “show of presence” intended to send a message to LA residents about the power of the federal government.

After staging with armed soldiers and Border Patrol agents on horse, they packed up and left after a short walk.
