Not sure how to make it quippy, but we really need a message tying these degenerates to the enemy ideologies of our greatest wars.

They are plainly pro-monarchy, pro-Confederacy, imperialist, and have a dash of Nazism in there, too

I was trying to find the words to express this - the last part. We are going to crumble if we cannot establish that it is not just ok but in fact good to call out bullshit in every arena it pops up
Texas clearly did a racial gerrymander, which is illegal.

A district court found that Texas did a racial gerrymander, rejecting the new map because it is illegal.

But the Supreme Court reversed it.

Because? Must assume the gerrymanderers were acting in good faith (despite the evidence otherwise).

I feel like you just get the right 4+ additions to the court and then design whatever argument is least ridiculous. Calvinball it. Idc.

The pardon power was pretty clearly not intended to enable utter executive lawlessness. There's probably some carve out in there.
Mass pardons are coming. There will be no accountability without treating those as null and void. And that means a future administration taking an official position that Trump is not the legitimate president right now because he is disqualified by the 14th Amendment. The two things are inextricable.

Trads have been swimming in American Protestant stew for so long they're blinded to the universalism at the heart of the Catholic Church despite it being literally what the word catholic means
cnn.com CNN @cnn.com · 26d
Pope Leo XIV condemned the use of religion for justifying "war," "violence" or "fanaticism" – instead urging Catholics to mobilize their faith and unify others "regardless of ethnicity, nationality, religion or personal perspectives."

Ben Franklin was afraid we'd all be wearing lederhosen if we let Germans in. The Irish went from being blackballed from jobs to an impossible number of Americans proudly claiming Irish heritage. You can barely even eyeball Greek or Polish ancestry now. This shit is so old.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Unfortunate that CBS broke the new tradition of exclusively gifting the Pope Cubs memorabilia

A huge part of this story is when Google realized it could make a lot more money with a lot less risk by abusing its monopoly on ads instead of the hard work of making useful products.

Every Google app you like is at least 10 years old at this point and its search sucks now
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

It's so fascinating, and true to form, that conservatives' problem with this is based on some internal ick factor and not on the fact that someone of that age cannot meaningfully consent.

Also revealing: at what age the ick factor stops.

I understand the reticence but if you're going to do this at all, Anthropic is basically the only actor behaving in a remotely responsible way.

Nearly every true bad or risky thing about AI that you know about probably came from an Anthropic experiment that they voluntarily released.
It’s not enough to rebuild someone else’s broken government. We need to innovate.

This partnership will speed up our efforts to fight poverty, help renters become homeowners, and make sure Marylanders can quickly get basic services like food assistance and financial support.

All evidence points to Trump being possibly the greatest conman our species has ever produced and you could have made that argument well before he even entered politics. Just because it didn't work on you doesn't mean it's not true.
His charisma is fundamentally incompatible with me (and likely many of the people on Bluesky) but it’s kind of insane to say it doesn’t exist

Isn't she kind of balding
Trump on Lori Lightfoot, whose name he can't remember: "The mayor from Chicago. The woman. The one that gets her hair done very expensively, right? Beautiful hair. She's got beautiful, luxurious hair."

Brilliant point.

I was saying this on The Argument live show: Dems saw "I'd Take Some Mean Tweets and $2 Gas Right Now!" bumper stickers for four years and said: Okay, motherfuckers, we can not care about scandals too.

I feel like the reason everything can be cast as a distraction is because Trump himself is a very distractable man. It's a guy with no attention span doing a bunch of horrible shit
I find this distraction discourse unhelpful. Trump's video was appalling and significant and should be analyzed and denounced, and part of the work of politics is to turn it into a major controversy in its own right, as a symbol of Trump's autocratic disdain for the people.
Obama: The weird videos of a U.S. President with a crown on his head flying a fighter jet and dumping poop on protesting citizens… All of that is designed to distract you from the fact that your situation has not gotten better.

Who wrote this? They won five regular season games last year alone by 10+.

Is it supposed to be double-digit regular season win total?

But yes, obligatory BK is a fraud
LSU is firing Brian Kelly after a blowout loss to Texas A&M and internal clashes over staff moves, per sources. His four-year run ends without a single double-digit regular-season win.

I don't know how the hell we're losing a strong/weak opinion battle against the the most spineless cowardly lickspittle cogs ever inserted into a political machine
The Founders anticipated the possibility of a corrupt, venal, lawbreaking, wannabe monarch president.

What they did not expect is numerous people achieving prominent national office and not wanting to guard their own power. The combo of ego to run but pathetic absence of ego in office stands out.

They literally just cited her natl polling (-4).

I think it's dumb that the general population has that opinion of her but their "dismissal" of her (which is really just an aside in a longer part of the convo) is just them referencing her polling and asking "why"
There's a lot to unpack, digest and consider here, though some of the solutions they suggest seem unworkable.

But it's striking to me that they dismiss @aoc.bsky.social as "AOC at the Met gala," when she is actually an example of a working-class candidate with great communication skills who wins.

He could literally go ask congress for that authority. It'd still be stupid, but at least it'd be lawful.
Trump: “If this country is not allowed to have the President of the United States negotiate on behalf of it with tariffs, we are put in a position where we’re going to be a third-world country.”

Not the point but ICE being gone in 3.5 years is really going to fuck up the Salesforce schtick of getting a client dependent on their software and then jacking up prices 150% upon renewal
Salesforce told ICE that its A.I. software could help the agency nearly triple its staff, according to internal documents, as President Trump expands immigration raids and deportations around the U.S. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/16/u...

Sociopathic surveillance billionaire whose wealth maintains a harem of 20yo men some of whom end up mysteriously dead lecturing on the antichrist is something
I couldn't believe this but it's true, Thiel can't decide whether the antichrist is Greta or Big Yud. Positively reeling.
