TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

Blast from the past: Didn’t catch any z’s and I believe the tape choice was my contribution, but the liner credits/spinal title should match the handwriting.
Skewed photo of old tape cassette with home recordings of eponymous Debut albums of Peter Case and Fine Young Cannibals.

I was looking around YT for live recordings and *squint* "hey, that's my handwriting on that Spiritualized live tape!" Those tapes got around...

Out of business--along with most of the once lively, quirky Hollywood Blvd. business corridor: Supply Sergeant (1968-2025). On Alison Martino's Vintage Los Angeles, the last manager put out a call seeking a new operator. Don't anyone "save"/take the sign! www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1...

There's a biography of Chris Knox out this week - the author Craig Robertson contacted me a few years ago, as back in 1995 when I was at Ak Uni, I made a half hour documentary on Chris and he wanted to see it.
Anyway, I dug out the digital file and it's now online, enjoy! youtu.be/VQjvic02S8M?...

It worries me that the alleged drone sightings over the past week or so are causing European leaders to talk about war, and NATO is mobilizing. Troops are being called up. Almost every indication is that the drone sightings are the same bullshit we saw in New Jersey–there may be *nothing* there. 2/

Not for nothing but The Art of War is actually a manual for the failsons who got handed armies and had to be told "You have to fucking feed your troops moron, or they bail."

I know these guys are all dumber than a sack of hammers, but it is fascinating to see the military decide “logistics are gay” in real time
