This is an excellent statement - I assumed it was from a California member of Congress. But this guy's from Rhode Island. We need ALL leaders in Congress putting out similar statements. Now.

Within the first few minutes of Tuesday’s House Committee on Energy and Commerce hearing on planned Republican Medicaid cuts—which would render more than 8 million Americans uninsured—a contingent of protesters entered the room in Washington. Here is what happened⬇️

Disabled protesters shut down a republican congressional hearing today because said repubs are trying to LITERALLY decimate Medicaid.

They want to cut ~$88 *billion* from medicaid every year for 10 yrs for a total which, again— & this is important—*Essentially Equals The Entire Budget of Medicaid*.

Wearing a mask at a protest also makes those who mask for security and/or health reasons less likely to be individually targeted in real time as "radicals" or "antifa" by cops.
1. WEAR A MASK. Yes, protests can spread viral infections. But widespread mask wearing serves two other important purposes. First, it makes it more accessible for disabled people to participate. Second, it makes it harder for individual people to be identified after the fact.
