i've watched this movie before, much younger, and with much less media literacy. mostly i remembered that this movie had some actors i liked a lot and it was bad, and not that fun-bad but just bad. however it's always been there lurking in the back of my mind as something i'd have to revisit.

so i did and, wow. we get it. small town christian religious extremism good. big city evil, corrupting, and bad. black people are magical and soooo sooo scary especially when they practice unfamiliar religions. some homeless people are secretly demons who will kill you (because let's be honest, the kind of person who makes this film thinks homeless people did something to deserve their life circumstances). much less important but still a gripe of mine: one type of lawyer has to be more evil than another type of lawyer instead of it coming down to personal integrity and a case by case basis...

like... who is this movie for? it's not for black or homeless people because it hates them. it's not for christians because it has far too many tits for them (though to be open and honest i did choose to watch the UNRATED version because i knew there would probably be more tits which would be more good for me.) and it's not even for lawyers because there was so much wrong with the court proceedings.

i got a little under an hour and a half through the movie and realized there was another entire hour and, remembering the gist enough, decided to quit because i was just getting a headache and not having fun. i don't give a lot of serious reviews but i had to for this, because it is soo soo bad and soo soo terrible in its' view on morality, race, and non christian/catholic religions.
