In conclusion, I think misuse of ChatGPT is as much a symptom of a society in decline as it is a cause. If kids felt an education would actually benefit them in material ways, they wouldn't cheat. This is a sign that the kids have read the room and, by and large, already given up.

Random+ anecdotal, but I wonder how much of the rampant cheating in academia rn is the availability of ChatGPT and how much is our culture already bending to accommodate fascism. I briefly taught school in an authoritarian regime 20 yrs ago +cheating was endemic even w/o AI bc effort didn't matter

This! Been making comics for 15yrs and I am deeply aware that the only person who is gonna get the experience I want out of what I create is me. Sounds like a problem but is actually a GREAT excuse to put every queer character/dynamic into it that I've found lacking in the media I grew up with.
You never have the experience the artist intended for you. The art, filtered through your perception, is changed and made unique to you.

When art makes its message too tight, there's no space for you.

this is actually the energy i want from straight romances of every genre!!! she should be a merciless highwayman with a tortured past and he should be sliding his glasses bashfully up his nose as he tends her wounds
I think I'd read a lot more dark romance if the women were the violent psychopaths and their boyfriends were helpless little dweebs tethering them to their humanity

THE WHITE DRAGON (1978)
Acrylic on Masonite - 20" X 30"

Although this is the third book in the series, this was my first Pern cover, and I was determined to create the dragons as faithfully to Anne McCaffrey's description as possible. 1/4

i cannot express the depths to which you must have sunk, the purity of your vileness, if you're too evil for mitch fucking mcconnell
Why McConnell voted NO on RFK: "I'm a survivor of childhood polio... I will not condone the re-litigation of proven cures, and neither will millions of Americans who credit their survival and quality of life to scientific miracles."

This bill in OK is exactly what Project 2025 threatened: to make all pornography illegal, and criminalize the people who make it, using a WILDLY broad definition of pornography, which would include any book with sex in it.

We're talking jail time for romance authors.

Never grocery shop without masking. It makes good health sense AND good anti-panopticon sense.

This is a hard era. But I'm buoyed today by the lessons so many emphasize:

* Picking a lane and working in community is how we make a difference
* Joy is vital, art is critical
* It's unhelpful to be aware of and outraged by every horrible thing

Sometimes, we'll despair. But these truths will help
