I know this sounds like a goof, but I actually found it to be a surprisingly moving poem, maybe colored by remembering my father and uncle's shared reflections on their own discoveries of the horrors they'd actually been fighting against.
hello I wrote a poem. It's called Indiana Jones Learns About The Holocaust. You can read it here, no patreon membership required: www.patreon.com/posts/poem-i...

Ok, well have a good day.

All spicy autocorrect is really doing is ripping the foundations out from under the houses beginning authors will one day want to build. Yeah, you can auto-generate a book, but you won't know HOW to write a book. You won't have it hammered into your heart. And you'll miss the good part.

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.

love that software developers are advertising AI functionality in every single app now and it's up to you to try to figure out if they mean "this has spellcheck" or "everything you create in this app will sync in real-time to sam altman's personal laptop" or something in between

This is just to say

I have read
the book
that was in
your training data

And which
you had absorbed
as mere
statistics

Forgive me
your summary
misses the point
of reading at all.
The “AI” has not read the book.

Even if the book
was in its training data,
it has just absorbed it
as a set
of statistics.
It will juggle you a “summary”
that might
or might not
relate to the conclusions
of the actual text.

The only way
you’ll know
is to read it
yourself.

U.S. plans to stop recommending most childhood vaccines, defer to doctors
The plan, which is not finalized, suggests children get fewer shots and shifts to a model telling parents to consult doctors to make their own vaccine choices.

When you hear them respond
(and you will)
to this winter wave
of respiratory illnesses
by saying: it’s winter,
everyone always gets sick
in the winter,
it is vital that you remember
that there was a time
when even in the winter
everyone didn’t always get sick.

Productivity hack: do not fill your day with boredom busters. Ditch the mobile games, the doomscrolling, the TV binge, and whatever else you noodle on when you're bored.

Then fight boredom by making something. Paint a picture, write a story, sing a song, code an app. Making stuff is awesome.

These anti-vaxxers will kill babies.

It feels awful to be that blunt, but the stakes here are *babies dying of preventable diseases*.
To be very clear: Kennedy's team is messing with a vaccine which has led to a 99 percent drop in the incidence of hepatitis B, which kills, early and painfully, 25 percent of the children who get it.

“Their game is, let’s really destabilize trust in the vaccine, and make people really anxious about it.”

My teen, who had dreamt of being an astrophysicist, just told me he wants to go to law school because, “Science isn’t going to be a priority in the US in the future…I don’t want a job where I’ll be constantly worried my funding will be taken away.”

Gutting. How many future scientists have we lost?

Let's be very clear that one of the major effects of the CDC no longer recommending various vaccinations is that it becomes much harder for folks who still want to be—or want their children to be—vaccinated to get their insurance providers to cover those vaccinations.

I will never use spicy auto-correct in my writing, because if I can't be arsed to write it myself, how can I ask you to read it? All the fuck-ups and typos are my own, and always will be.

Support the artists you like now because tomorrow you might not be able to find them.
