Following today’s sentencing of Paul Doyle, several people have understandably queried why he was not banned from driving for life.

It’s a good question, and one I attempted to grapple with in #NothingButTheTruth in the context of repeat driving offenders.

Petrol prices are the lowest they’ve been since *2001*, after adjusting for inflation.

Excess supply and a strong pound have helped. But so too have 14 years of cuts to fuel duty. There’s just one problem: voters don’t seem to have noticed…

Three years ago, under the Dark Sky, I asked my followers to send me examples of relatively recent bike lanes in the French countryside. Here are 4 before/after examples I was then able to create with Streetview, to promote the idea that creating bike lanes outside cities is also a possibility.

Excellent to see Labour getting rid of the arbitrary deadline to register all historic rights of way.

Landowning lobbyists had got the Tories to put in a deadline of 2031 to register 49,000 miles of lost paths.

Next step: a right of responsible access, please!

Musk's proposed $100million donation to Nigel Farage shows we are on the cusp of a real crisis for British democracy

But it can be fixed. Here's how, by me
