Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

Watching NCCA football on a Friday night (because I have a bug and I'm keeping away from Celeste) and the announcer just called a catch a "Leroy Jenkins" play.
I don't know if Cal will hold on, but the geeks just won.

It's super on-brand that people like Hegseth love the Spartans, who were artless, slave-keeping, murderous fascists despised by pretty much EVERYONE, but they never talk about how the Spartans were ultimately defeated by a heroic army of... let me double-check my notes... yep... gay democrats.

We've had fuckups in the White House before, but never a president who seemed so deliberately intent on being a fuckup.
It's been said before, but if these people were actual agents of an enemy power seeking to divide, dismantle and destroy the USA they wouldn't be doing anything different.

President Trump and Congressional Republicans just shut down the government because they refused to stop your health care costs from rising.
Let me be clear: Republicans are in charge of the White House, House, and Senate. This is their shutdown.

"Breach" by Twenty One Pilots is terrific. I kinda prefer the interpretation of "City Walls" that I painted in my head for how the story ends as opposed to the MV, but YMMV. "Drum Show" is a stand-out. "Cottonwood" makes me cry. That's my album review.

Really enjoyed SUPERMAN. I thought it did a great job capturing the essential goodness of the character while still making him interesting. Some wonderful filmmaking as well. The Mr. Terrific action sequence was a standout but lots of beautiful moments.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner did a guest role for us on "The Irrational." It was during the WGA strike, so there was no writer on set, but I later heard from the cast and crew how lovely he was. He turned in a terrific performance and helped make it one of our best episodes. What a horrible tragedy. RIP.

This is really well described, and since it’s REALLY important these days (trade deficits, tariffs, trade wars and how stupid Trump and his people are about the economy), you should definitely watch it, and definitely share it.

Lemme explain what bilateral trade deficits are, so that you can better understand -- and perhaps be infuriated by -- the intellectual error that's transforming our economy. #TeachEcon

Look, to be fair to Dean Cain, he's not the dumbest, bootlickingest, most wrong-headed actor I've ever written for...

Just a reminder that JOHNNY CASH released his take on "The Gambler" (written by Don Schlitz) months before Kenny Rogers' did his. It made no splash at all. Rogers' version is one of most beloved country songs ever and was a crossover smash. In the arts, sometimes success is random as lightning.
