Hour eight of the power outage. I placed a lantern beside the cat’s salver, and after a withering look he began to eat his croquettes. I assigned myself some sightless busywork nearby, even though we were actually both listening to the eavestrough embracing its full failure just outside the window.

The latest Republican running for Colorado Governor labels Gov. Jared Polis and others as the "synagogue of Satan Jews" and has called for their execution by hanging.

MAGA podcaster Joe Oltmann recently said "Violence is probably the only solution."

Millions of workers are toiling away from their families over the holidays. So thank the workers who serve you. Appreciate the workers who care for you. Respect the workers who pick up your trash. Salute the workers who get you your mail. Pay all workers a living wage.

If Marjorie Taylor Greene *really* cared about the Epstein victims, she would read the names of the perpetrators on the House floor (where she would have immunity) before she leaves office.

This isn’t complicated.

Throw the thieves off your back, America . . .
What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

The U.S. dollar is on track for one of its worst annual performances in more than half a century in 2025, having lost roughly 9–10% of its value against a broad basket of major currencies as of late December, a decline not seen on this scale since the early 1970s.

It’s not our duty to just smile and nod when a man with this much power demonstrates that he’s a pathological liar and an imbecile. Quite the contrary. Real patriots say out loud this is just plain nuts and he’s unfit to hold office.
Trump: "It's funny, I settled 8 wars. Some were going on for 35 years. And we got them settled in a couple of days. Some of them -- one was going on for 37 years. I settled it in one day. But this is a very complex one."

Under the Biden administration, the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) got private firms to pledge to hit certain memory-safety goals. This was called Secure by Design.

Then Trump cut CISA's budget and Musk's goons forced out much of CISA's staff, ending Secure by Design

“Quite literally, Russia invaded Ukraine and continues to smash it. …Adam Kinzinger: ‘With all this talk of how to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, and a cease fire, keep this in mind: If Ukraine ceases firing, Ukraine will cease to exist. If Russia ceases firing, the war will cease to exist.’”

So in spring, Pam Bondi said there was nothing to the Epstein investigation, then “closed” it. Now, they “find” 1 million more docs.

So did she close this without seeing these docs? Or was someone hiding them?

"Comments" in this context means giving the people involved in a news story the chance to respond before publication.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.
