I know that this is an issue that most European policymakers don't want to acknowledge, but it needs to be said, clearly and often: the Trump administration have aligned with Russia. They don't see NATO members as allies and they appear not to care at all about Europe's security.

Please watch this video if you want to better understand Putin and the Ukraine war. Good points are made such as that a peaceful and successful Ukraine, outside Russia’s influence sphere, is simply not acceptable for Putin, even if parts of Ukraine are given up to Russia.
We need to consider Putin's ideological reasons for fighting in Ukraine if we want to understand why he is so reluctant to engage in peace negotiations. That is my topic in this video.
