(1) your haters are trash
(2) you’re a baller, a true queen
(3) i have determined the statistical law of motion of the diatomic molecule in planck’s radiation field 🧪⚛️

This is a harmful phrasing and it’s disappointing to see it used.

Pretending that no management is happening and, worse, offering the implication that less management is “good” is a viewpoint that I wish we could evolve beyond as an industry, already.

Especially leaders: do better, and be better.

4. Let's deny this undeniable attraction as long as possible

3. Classic literature, but make it Muppets

2. Highly competent but frankly quite stupid gang of thieves

1. We're getting the band (back) together
My favourite genres are

5. Families, eh? But French!

4. It's great to be gay

3. Say hello to my little friend

2. I am so depressed, let me just wander around in the world's most gorgeous scenery while I regret everything

1. Underappreciated woman gets justice at last (sexually)
My favourite genres are

5. comedies where characters have opinions about Middlemarch

4. The Church is sending their saddest man to an unwelcoming country

3. Fightin'

2. There is a killer on the loose and he likes weird monologues

1. Someone needs to use the microfiche machine in the library

That last one is perfect
Mine are:

5. I remember it having more action and less exposition the first time I saw it

4. Nothing is truly resolved until you shoot it

3. Subs, helicopters, dinosaurs, and yeah - fuck you - spaceships

2. The Old Man And The Sea, in some other setting

1. Kurt Russell wants none of this

Every time people tout using facial recognition to find criminals, I'm reminded of the fact that when I worked for an Xbox contract, we literally had an entire help article for "How come my Kinect can't see me" where we had to carefully ask if the person was Black.

Because it COULDN'T SEE THEM.
Rare work post, on building products that work for everyone.

It gets worse!

20% of US mail delivery drivers are Black.

32% of US FedEx drivers are Black.

Very few recognition products are designed with test groups that look anything close to the demographics of who will show up on camera.😮
Apparently I'm one of a triplet! Different UPS guy, Apple Home still thinks it's me

When people that have studied this say, "This technology should not be used to make law enforcement decisions," people laugh, and say that they're just afraid to move fast and break things.🤡

When you move fast and break things, sometimes the things that you break, are human beings.

A lesser-known power of Shirley Jackson's 'The Lottery' is where it comes in its collection.

Spoilers, but I suspect you know how 'The Lottery' ends. It's famous for a reason.

But this is important: Jackson arranged the collection it was named after, and she chose the arrangement. 1/

Your periodic reminder the Alamo “heroes” were fighting for human enslavement.
And the eventual winning of Texas “independence” was just winning independence to keep humans enslaved.
It’s an extreme version of the same logic the right uses now: “we want the freedom to take away freedom of others”
Why does the most violent gangster music in the world, sound like German polka music? Seriously. I'm not joking. Violent. Polka origins.

Because anti-racist white German Americans fled Texas to Mexico. They took Tubas with them.🤡

Wait... what?!

Yes. Mexico was anti-slavery. Texas, pro-slavery.

Q:
Why is it so much easier for the US right to organize and be unified than the US left?

A:
Anti-Black racism.

The only consistent thing that the right agrees on, is this. It's what unifies them. But the US left is very anti-Black too! So they try to get the benefits, without helping Black folk.🤷🏿‍♂️
