I mean honestly what kind of tool would look back over the last 70 years of US military action and say that the problem was - the reason they keep getting mired in intractable, viscous far-flung conflicts - is that they hadn’t been good enough at the killing and destroying part.

Mark the moment - an American president has ordered troops on to the streets of a normal American city where crime rates have fallen sharply.

The characterisation of medieval car-unfriendly European cityscapes is also only half the story… There are an awful lot of cars and lots of big multi-lane roads in Berlin, for example, (despite its comprehensive public transport and cycling network).

It is *insane* that the UK will imprison some poor deluded woman for posting something nasty (and clumsily turn her into a reform martyr in doing so) but will do **nothing** against the platform spreading this stuff daily and its unhinged owner, which are vastly more damaging to UK civic society
