I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

How Republicans commemorated Thanksgiving in 1869--with a multi-racial/multi-ethnic gathering of people at a table with a centerpiece celebrating universal suffrage and self-government, and with an engraving of Castle Garden, the pre-Ellis Island point of disembarkation for immigrants.

NEW: it’s the inaugural Your Party conference this weekend, and I’ve been speaking to people involved about a project which has become so bogged down in disagreement that, as one person told me, at one point they had six MPs and four factions.

My mistake has been trying to explain what "fascism" is to people who don't care what it is.

So I'm going to try something else. Let's do this as a practical thought exercise.

At this point, committing rape is simply a smart career-building move if you’re interested in getting GOP money.
Brand is of course still awating trial on UK rape charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty; this is evidently not an impediment to appearing at gatherings with Republican officials including the vice president and HHS secretary. His trial is currently set for June 2026 www.npr.org/2025/05/30/g...
