Downtown Brooklyn is the real life version of that meme of a million people crammed into the sidewalks and a single driver lounging in a car

When people ignorantly label "cyclists" as entitled for wanting equitable infrastructure, just remember, they're oppressing people with mobility challenges as well with that rhetoric.
Protected cycle tracks are not just for cyclists, they allow more freedom for those with mobility issues

Estaba cerrado. Bajamos a Wongs. Estaba cerrado.

Lest you doubt a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world, consider Keisha Mayuga: a young woman who improvised a kilometre-long pop-up cycle lane in Manila, sparking 500 kilometres of permanent infrastructure throughout the Philippines. theurbanactivist.com/mobility/com...

After decades of being told that the Dutch and Danes had some innate affinity for biking, here the Parisians are showing the world that alternative mobility can be rolled out anywhere/everywhere.

Shout out to Bogotanos who have also embraced the humble bicycle!
“A major survey of 12,000 reveals that 39% of Parisians are regular cyclists. The study also highlights the rapid development of infrastructure in the capital, which is behind this cycling boom!” Posted by the City of Paris (aka @paris.fr)

I don’t think images of disaster lead to action. I do think examples of people acting lead to more people acting. So….what is an action you are taking (can be small) on an issue that matters to you?

I am a climate scientist and this is correct ⬇️
Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
