This is super fucked up.

The recent ICE raid which emptied an entire apartment building was apparently at the request of Wells Fargo, which is trying to foreclose on the building.

The building is in a 27 million dollar foreclosure filed by Wells Fargo. The next day, Wells Fargo filed an emergency motion for receivership. The fascist regime kindly emptied the building for donor Wells Fargo.

here is my first rendering of the bread scale of triviality (any suggestions welcome; I love thinking about bread)

I’ve definitely been in the “why should I quit? My boss hates me at least as much as I hate him. Why not get paid to be an annoyance?” conundrum. It eats your soul but is quite lucrative. Bonus, more often than not I’ve outlasted them anyway

Here's the real gut punch, however:

ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Retired couple, 63
Combined income: $85,000/yr

2025 Premium: $602/month
2026 Premium: $3,456/month

That'd be 49% of their gross income.

That *is* yummy. I like to use the Fage 5% as a base for a pineapple/mango smoothie. It’s a nice little treat.

I'll put it on my list to watch.

This sounds lovely, I’m really looking forward to the new season on PBS. Next time I’m over in Yorkshire I will make time to see this!

Don't talk to cops. I wrote a song about it. Wanna hear it? Here it goes:

Exactly this. Somehow I’m on a list and I get about 3 texts a week trying to enrage me about bills in CA (and I’m not, so whatever) giving things to “illegals.” I mark them as junk and ignore, but frankly I want *everyone* to have healthcare (and other rights), and they’re probably lying anyway.
sporkyreeve.bsky.social
Pointing out the lying is good but I think democrats should take the next step and explain why: republicans think that the American public in general and their voters in particular are so stupid that invoking undocumented immigrants gets them too mad to think clearly. Are you as dumb as they think?

“Trump is lying. Speaker Johnson is lying. Full stop.”

These are the lowest cost insurance options for a 62 year old Georgian making $65k.

2025: $228
2026: $1142

She will lose $704/month in credits because of GOP cuts to health care.

This is a crisis. We cannot wait to fix this.

Legacy media will never use the word "lie," but they're happy to use the word "believes." It's crazy. "Claims to believe" should be the standard.

I've been screaming about the weird double-standard between avoiding the word "lie" but freely using the word "believes" for years. A lot of journos and editors are not just deluded by their neutrality theater priorities, they're also not very smart.

I sent this to my boss (who I've been trying to dissuade from using this LLM BS) and he literally said, "52.7 vs 71 human--today; in a month it will be closer. The point is--it helps get things started, then the human intervention comes to improve"

We are so cooked.

Pretty sure it was '98 when I was living in NYC and I had a cable modem. But I had to think pretty hard about it.

I know for sure I had one when I moved to Atlanta in '99. Fiber optics was a selling point of the apartment we picked.

"Microsoft says its Agent Mode in Excel has an accuracy rate of 57.2 percent in SpreadsheetBench, a benchmark for evaluating an AI model’s ability to edit real world spreadsheets. "

57.2% accurate? Definitely going to trust my SEC filings to that.

I walk on it at various inclines, my son runs on it. At one point I built a desk attachment and worked there.

It folds up when not in use.

I got whatever was cheap at Costco 20 years ago. I'm happy, I definitely got my money's worth. I used it this morning. It's fine.

I mounted a tv over it.

I think it was co branded with Reebok.

Smart. I made a bunch of mini burritos and put them in the freezer for my fend nights. I'm also going to make some soups in individual portions once it cools down.

And freezer pasta is a variation on this recipe from past me. I made a batch of it with spinach mixed in and froze it into portions for two people. Now I can thaw it and bake it up. This is my last one, so it's time to do it again. 3/3

Bigger noodles, tinier meatballs, lighter sauce: Marcella Hazan knew exactly what she was doing when she turned the usual balance of pasta bakes on its head.
