oh, yeah, absolutely, but even aside from that - I've also worked with librarians who are proud of being passionate and I'm just like... that's like proud of being jealous or of being ignorant. You can be proud of it, I'm not the boss of you, I just find it weird.

because in the religious tradition i adhere to it's viewed as a negative emotion that needs to be processed and released so as not to cause harm, akin to aggression and ignorance

one thing i sometimes find interesting in job postings is how employers will ask for someone with "passion" as if that's a quality universally understood to be good, sometimes even more so than domain knowledge

I mean to be fair, I've read a fair number of human-written summaries -- abstracts written by the paper's own authors even -- that include factual inaccuracies.

Or at the least, express the paper's data/conclusions in a way that seems not well aligned if you do a close reading of the text.

I think the myth of objectivity is what allows people to believe that GAI can output a meaningful summary.

Prior knowledge doesn't matter, context doesn't matter, relationships don't matter, so a summary written in a particular 'style' is fine.
