Even still, we’re raising the flag early: the PSF has only ~6 months of runway and needs your support to sustain essential #Python & #PyPI infrastructure, #PyConUS, and, hopefully, to reopen our Grants Program.

Pains me to say, but there are many cowards currently at NASA that are conceding in advance to authoritarian demands.
NASA is sinking its flagship science center during the government shutdown — and may be breaking the law in the process, critics say

if the president does something so awful it would be indecent to describe and ask about then you very obviously need to describe and ask about it, thats the entire job

That's a good line!

But more importantly, this is sure to be a good course. I had the privilege of receiving some live JavaScript training from Mat and his colleagues about a decade ago, and he's a great teacher.
Only one week left to pre-order JavaScript for Everyone and get £100 off the full price of £249.

Until next Tuesday, £149 ($200) will get you a whole seat—BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EDGE.

JavaScript for Everyone is a course designed to teach you not just the how, but the why of JavaScript — the kind of deep-magic knowledge that can otherwise take years to develop.

For the next two weeks, you can pre-order for £149, saving £100 off the full price of £249.

The DC Cir majority lifts the ban on firing CFPB staff bc there was “no…statement, written or oral, purporting to shut down the CFPB” & noting the gov’t “does not claim the power to ‘shut down’ the CFPB.”

But then AG Bondi tweets out: actually, that’s been the plan all along!

There’s only a few days left to meet our goal of 200 new donors with $20 or more – can you help us support #Django? #DjangoBirthday

This is an overt cash bribe to a sitting president, and we’ve apparently sunk so far that nobody involved feels any shame or questions whether they’ll get away with it.
This may sound old fashioned, but again it’s worth saying. 60 Minutes did nothing wrong. This is a payoff for merger approval.

Seems like most people quoting/replying to this are missing that he said the showers are for the STAFF.

"And then, of course, you also have stuff for the staff that work here. So, we've got laundry facilities, we've got showers … there you see the shower and bath facilities."

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles
Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.
