Couldn’t agree more. When I was a senate page in ‘02, there was a vote on ed funding. Kerry voted no. Blanche Lincoln wanted to vote no but wasn’t sure until she found out he had done it too. She went up to him to tell him and thank him, and he said,
I will say: I saw kerry campaign for obama in 08 and he was awesome. charisma through the roof. and he made his name giving compelling testimony to congress. maybe the problem was some campaigns and consultants smooth off all the rough edges when those edges are what make the candidate interesting
Absolutely this. The last time Democrats had a big win, it was Obama. Kerry lost because his charisma was awful. Joe only squeezed in his win because everyone was terrified of how things were going. Kamala campaigned on nothing fundamentally changing. I voted for all of these people but be real!

This would make sense if the governor of a state were a subordinate officer in the president’s chain of command, but they’re not. They’re a separate sovereign. Do governors have ANY duty to the president or the federal government?
The court concludes that the statute's requirement that "orders ... shall be issued through the governors of the States" doesn't mean that a governor must consent or even be consulted before their state's National Guard is federalized.

This cries out for critical analysis. It's like an inversion of American cultural hegemony. We conquered the world with McDonald's, and now the world is turning that weapon back on us.
As part of the red-carpet treatment, Saudi officials arranged for a fully operational mobile McDonald’s unit to accompany President Trump during his stay.

According to local reports, the unit was set up near the Saudi Royal Court.

Trump says movies produced outside the U.S. are a national security threat. So he’s imposing a 100% tariff on all movies that are “produced in foreign lands.”

“No gifts please! Everything is so expensive these days and Henry is just excited to get a brief respite from toiling in the factory alongside his father.”
Trump on China: "They made a trillion dollars with Biden selling us stuff. Much of it we don't need. Somebody said, 'oh, the shelves are gonna be open.' Well, maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls, and maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more."

I don’t understand why Marmoush’s pass doesn’t counted as an fpl assist but if he’d had a shot blocked and then Silva kicked in the rebound it would. Neither is exactly intended, but both are related to the intent and lead directly to the goal via a touch by a third party
