Forcing an invaded country to cede territory to their invaders while also forcing them to reduce their military to make it easier for the invaders to come back for more territory at a later date, is not a peace plan

Not that anyone asked, but the country with the World's lowest life expectancy (Chad) has a higher life expectancy than the country with the highest life expectancy 120 yrs ago (Sweden).

Think Science and especially Medicine has somehow failed you? Think again.

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

„Quiet, Piggy!“ Just think about that for a minute, and what it means to live in a time when a President can assault a woman in public like that without any consequences.
It‘s quite a testimony to the age of regression we live in.

I saw somebody comment earlier that Vance will be a less dangerous President and I don't agree.

Trump is dangerous because he is erratic and unpredictable in his actions and reactions.

Vance is an ideologue and actually believes some of the things he says. That is truly dangerous.

The analysis of Mayor- Elect Mamdani is now moving into a very skin crawling space for me because:

- wow people do not care if a man of color is uncomfortable if it gives them the entertainment they want
- the cult of personality is positive and negative and has nothing to do with policy

I think it's easier to understand the Trump Era when you realize nobody actually likes Trump, they just like the anarchy and chaos of being free from social norms and basic civility.

Even his supporters hate him, but he normalized being a monster.

If every book I read this year costs $15.99 each…

I would have spent over $3,000 on books alone.

Instead, I borrowed them from my library.

When Trump was backed into a corner and facing loss of power and consequences for his actions during his first term, he leaned into inciting violence and talking about hanging people.

I see he’s at it again and likely for the exact same reasons.

The President of the United States is publicly calling for the political prosecution of his political opponents, urging the death penalty because they urged soldiers to uphold the rule of law.

This should be front page news everywhere. It is not, which tells much about how we got to this point.
