The most obvious moral disengagement strategy going on here (and his other tweets) is Displacement of Responsibility: the assailant isn’t “us,” it’s “them” (and so you shouldn’t feel bad/shouldn’t care). DoR creates distance and removes agency from the action, absolving the need to do anything 2/
