It is likely that 2025 will be the warmest year on record for the UK.

Why does this matter?

Burning fossil fuels is warming the planet, including the UK, causing heatwaves to get hotter. For Central England this is happening 2x faster than the mean change.

A damaging windstorm today will contribute to Extremely Critical fire weather conditions. Wind gusts up to 100mph, temperatures near 70F, and relative humidity near 10% will yield high-end fire weather environment along/near the Front Range. Stay aware& follow instructions from emergency officials.

Wildfires can spread quickly — by the time one is nearby, you may not have much time. Have an evacuation plan, and prepare an emergency supply kit ahead of time. Listen to local officials for emergency information and any evacuation orders.

2025 is on course to be joint-second warmest year.
The #C3S Climate Bulletin reports that November was 1.54°C above pre-industrial levels, making it the third-warmest November on record. The 2023–2025 average is likely to be the first three-year average exceeding 1.5°C.

It's hard to get a more symmetric and well-defined hurricane structure than the latest satellite images of Melissa.

One of the most intense storms the Atlantic has ever seen and unfortunately, just at the landfall.

A 10am EDT update from the National Hurricane Center now puts Melissa's sustained winds at 185 mph. Full text: www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh...?

Hurricane #Melissa is a category 4 hurricane expected to make landfall in Jamaica on Tuesday. Forecast shows over 40 inches or 1016mm of rainfall is possible in 4 days. The same as a full year’s rainfall in Ireland. Thoughts with those in her path.
