Wow, autumn-to-date mean temperature in Sodankylä, Lapland is currently a full two degrees (!) higher than the previous record.

In Sodankylä, records have been kept since 1908.

In a new paper, we provide fresh evidence on the macroeconomic effects of public investment in 27 EU member states. We find that public investment has favorable effects on output and unemployment; doesn't crowd out private investment; and doesn't jeopardise debt sustainability.

Ehkäpä julkinen puoli varmistamassa palvelujen laatua onkin hyvä asia, ja yksityiset ja julkiset toimijat kirittävät toinen toisiaan hinnassakin.

Ehkä sama toimisi muutenkin markkinoilla, esimerkiksi asuntorakentamisessa. Nyt on toiminta mennyt toiseen äärilaitaan ja sieltä tullaan takaisin.

Further up the same Stockholm street from the clip below is another traffic-calming device: intersections where cars may cross but the design is a sidewalk with low curb. Drivers tend to inch across, some of them likely not sure if they're really supposed to be there.
