Because a lot of people might be talking about journalistic ethics this holiday weekend, I want to put out there how my editor at the NYT does anon sourcing for our stories.

If something is stated and attributed to an unnamed person, she wants us to have at least three people verify it.

People who complain about bandwagoners just aren’t having enough fun. I love baseball and all my friends suddenly caring about baseball too just means I get to make more people understand why I love it so much.

Seems like a really inclusive and thoughtful content warning. Personally way too scared to ever play a Silent Hill game though
just learned about the content warning that open Silent Hill f and this feels like it comes from a parallel world where AAA games took on a whole different meaning for "mature"

damn. more of this approach please

I feel like the birthday note with drawing is too disturbing to not have an NSFW tag. It’s so clearly not what most people would assume is a silhouette of a woman…

Wife: I'll buy a subscription to any publication that writes one honest story about the "masculinity crisis" that just says "Men want to be able to treat women like shit and still get laid" and just be done with it. There's no more depth to the discussion. There is no nuance.

About this Florida vaccine story:

When they were little - 1 yr and 3 1/2 - my two older boys, who’d had all their shots, got whooping cough.

We asked their pediatrician what would’ve happened if they hadn’t been vaccinated.

“Oh, they’d have died.”

The most impressive thing about this campaign is how *creative* they are. They’re trying new stuff! Multiple times during the last few months I’ve thought “wow, I’ve never seen a campaign do that.” Much more of that needed everywhere.

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.
