Kemi Badenoch has given an interview in which she says the Grok/X issue can be solved simply by stopping children going on social media because social media is an ‘adult space’. So presumably she thinks child abuse images are fine, as long as only adults look at them?!!

What a very tiresome bore of a man shouting at us in his soiled Brexit pants.

Wow. I'm in a webinar about the new road safety strategy, and a guy from the ADI has just said that there is no mandatory requirement for driving instructors to carry out CPD! So they could have been a driving instructor for 30 years and never have done any further learning in that time 😱

In 2024, more than 1,600 people died on UK roads. Yet a major new road safety strategy has passed largely unnoticed. This reflects media acceptance of road danger and a societal complacency—an “it won’t happen to me” mindset. Sadly, it can, and by then it is too late. How do we change this?

❗️66% of Labour Party members want to change the voting system to Proportional Representation - @survation.bsky.social has found.

This is despite Labour being FPTP's biggest winner at the general election.

It's more clear than ever that the current system is a mess. It's time for change.

Shocking story about the failure of PFI. The implication is that the PFI company held back repairs until after the contract expired, then liquidated itself to grab the profits, leaving schools and subcontractors out in the cold (literally). We need laws to stop this. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

In other words, it won't happen. We need a national pavement parking ban. It isn't happening.
DfT press release on footway parking.

They've bottled a national ban and so will rely on local action with new powers (which are not explained, but area-based).

A postcode lottery as now then? I await actual details.

For fucks sake. A nationwide no stopping on footways & verges would have been an easy win. Councils & government are not responsible for helping you store private property; but they are responsible for ensuring your ability to pass & repass. Footpath/verge parking prevents that right being exercised

I am extremely confused as to why the UK government and police are saying Grok’s mass-scale CSAM generation is an issue for Ofcom.

This isn’t about X failing to moderate CSAM, which is an Online Safety Act issue. It is about the company and its technology being actively involved in its generation.

Car-first design creates the exact conditions women (understandably) fear.

Wide roads, long gaps between buildings, dark underpasses, empty parks after 6 pm. These are not accidents. They’re the natural outcome of planning that prioritises vehicle flow over human presence.

Critically, we also need the public to support actions that enable older people to live great lives without having to drive for when they fail the eye tests. So the public need to get onboard with no pavement parking, pedestrian priority, denser housing, fewer out-of-town shopping centres, etc etc

We also need to stop taxing profits of big companies, & instead tax turnover. Profit can be hidden easily, as I see everyday when I look at company accounts. Applying a small tax to turnover for companies with a turnover above £500m which account for just 0.2% of UK companies, would be a lot simpler

Starmer and Farage both drape themselves in flags but once again it's really clear where their loyalty really is.

It's Trump first. They will always be on the side of the super rich and powerful - no matter how heinous the crime.

This is not patriotism. It's subservience.
