Been thinking about this a lot in the last year. I feel like some sort of reclaiming of "globalism", "cosmopolitanism", or something in that vein is in order
I'm developing a kind of cosmopolitan-chauvinism, I guess you could call it anti-feudalism, as a through line in my politics. The peasant-brained and the local landed gentry are the enemy. Sort of funny that this could describe being either rabidly capitalist or communist.

To the people out of state who keep saying “why won’t the local cops stop ICE” you need to understand that ICE is overwhelmingly the largest force on the ground in Minneapolis. They outnumber Minneapolis cops four to one. They’re more likely to stop the cops than the other way around
The Star Tribune had an insane graphic about the presence of immigration enforcement in Minneapolis. There are more immigration officers in the metro right now than local police officers.

Look folks, there is no inherently neutral way to cover and discuss politics. Treating all proposals, no matter how vile, as just one of many competing policy proposals is a tacit endorsement. The media and commentariat absolutely has agency.

Like they did in Chicago, feds are abducting unhoused people in Minneapolis: in this instance, four members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Also as in Chicago, “homeless people… told the Minnesota Star Tribune that ICE apparently detained the four men without looking for credentials.”
The Oglala Sioux Tribe is still trying to locate four members kidnapped by ICE agents in Minneapolis last week, and many Native people in the Twin Cities have felt scared to leave the house to go to work or get groceries.
