Certainly not a deranged sentient cookie. Definitely a normal, suddenly patriotic Canadian.

Hi! As Jay's co-creator — while also being a fellow *contractor* at PCG, not associated with any of the business decisions being made — I think this summary of events laid out by Xeni is accurate to what I remember of the unfolding distribution problems that kept Yazeba's off of shelves.
When Rascal opened up to questions/criticisms of their article on the slow death of Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast , I foolishly thought I could get my feedback written and submitted on time.

That was a foolish hope, but I turned it into a more comprehensive doc here: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Thinking about publishing economics for no particular reason today— is there such a thing as an "unexpected smash hit" contract an artist could sign where their fee upfront is commensurate with the fact that most projects make very little money, but in the event it blows up they get cut back in?

Good summary of “don’t give him what he wants” from relatively comfortable white liberals.

It's pretty simple, I think killing people is wrong, but I also think letting the strong kill the weak is even more wrong, and I will use violence to protect those that cannot protect themselves.

If your morality stops at the first, let me offer up: you are the reason the world is where it is.

Yesterday I shoveled some snow and then sat in a chair for a few hours, so needless to say I'm laid out with a back spasm today 🥲

Hot take: anyone saying the Trump regime wants to encounter violent resistance so they can use the insurrection act and suspend elections is missing another, important possibility. Namely, even if these fucking Nazis don't encounter violent resistance, they will lie about an insurrection anyway.

I have so many questions about the lore of Host-Vic Michaelis. How did she land VIP? How old was she when she met Bianca's dad? Does she view Philomena Cunk as a personal attack?

These are the mysteries.

Hot take: The flanking rules in 5e are bad. They make movement boring by making certain options mechanically optimal and encouraging clustering for a slugfest rather than tactics. Also undermines rogue class identity by making sneak attack available while standing still in front of an enemy

I know we all know the Ms. Rachel anti-Semite of the year thing is transparent nonsense, but for the record if she ever DID tell me to purge the infidel I would assume she had a kind and loving reason and go do it

My Modest Proposal to fix traffic, reduce road rage, and increase public transit usage:

Everyone gets a vehicle-mounted rocket launcher, tied to your identity and non-transferable between individuals, and you only get one rocket in your whole life.

It is often said that you should choose your friends wisely, and that is true. A true warrior knows that the reverse is true, too. Your friends have also chosen you. Strive always to live honorably and prove they chose wisely.

Taxing billionaires is at best a half measure. Quite a lot of the damage they do is not what they spend their money on, but rather how they got it in the first place, i.e. ignoring environmental harms, exploiting labour, algorithmic manipulation. The full solution is labour power and regulation.
