What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

For a while I understood the EU institutions remaining on X, as a pure public broadcasting channel. But given it has fully become a radicalisation machine, and an owner who calls for destroying the EU, it is high time to leave also for European politicians.
After the little Musk-Sikorski spat this, and Musk's statement to abolish the EU (after the Commission fined X), let's ask ourselves simply:

HOW ARE EUROPEAN COMMISSIONERS USING X NOW?

In this 🧵 I'll document it, Commissioner by Commissioner. When did they last post? How often do they post?

The question is, how will Team 🇪🇺🇬🇧🇺🇦 respond to Team 🇺🇸🇷🇺?

Given that the Russians quite literally drafted our capitulation plan for Ukraine one has to wonder about whether there wasn’t at least a bit of cutting and pasting here.
"The Kremlin on Sunday welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump's new national security strategy and said it largely accorded with Russia's own perceptions, the first time that Moscow has so fulsomely praised such a document from its former Cold War foe."

There is no alternative. We will not avoid "provoking" Trump by appeasing him. We have not provoked anything with Washington. Like Moscow, the corrupt, authoritarian, criminal bully is picking a fight. Like Putin, Trump WANTS the fight. We ignore reality at our great peril.

In other words, our close ally in Washington is coming for the free, democratic, woke EU nations, to pry us apart and ensure the far-right populists win in our elections. Not passively, but actively.
He is making common cause with the autocratic Russia-China.
If Europe (except far right populists) thinks we can still rely on the US as an ally, the new NSS should disabuse them. No criticism of Russia, but hostility to the EU. And “Managing European relations with Russia will require significant US diplomatic engagement”, rather than military pushback!

My wife has now had to use her Firm Voice to stop me asking people to use headphones or turn down their phones, so bad are the threats of violence I'm receiving. It's not just Airport Behaviour, people are losing object permanence and a theory of mind that lets them know they might be annoying.
Can't remember if it was this bad before COVID but I'm seeing an alarming spreading of what I'll call Airport Behavior to other public places. Obliviousness to other people's existence, ineptitude at navigating the environment. "Is this your first time at the grocery store" type stuff
