The FF Leader has apologised to his colleagues for the presidential election debacle at a parliamentary party meeting tonight. In an emotional and humble address Mícheál Martin spoke of his lifelong commitment to the party.

Grateful for the cross-party support at today's launch of World Vacant Homes Day outside Leinster House in Dublin.

The greenest home is the one that's already built. Vacancy and dereliction blight communities across our cities, towns and rural areas.

The entire budget for BusConnects in Cork (plus a little more). 🤦‍♂️

In Cork City Council, we will be bringing in targeted rates rebates for smaller businesses — after FF/FG removed them last year, after tying themselves in knots in pre-election promises.

Lessons not learned by their higher-ups.

It's official. They're giving big restaurant chains a massive tax cut, costing nearly €700m in the #VAT cut to hospitality.

For that kind of money you could:

Last week I was appointed to the Cork City Local Community Safety Partnership following my election to represent the Cork City PPN for the Togher (South) Garda District and today, I had my induction. Looking forward to learning more!

Despite ambitious promises in their manifestos and Programme for Government, the Government parties have failed to invest adequately in childcare in this Budget cycle.

2/2 Go around the country and you will the blight on our communities from land hoarding.

With a stroke of a pen we are rolling over to developers, and rolling backwards on delivery of new housing.

We fought tooth and nail for the the Residential Land Tax for a reason. We knew that it was a game-changer for delivery of new land for much needed housing.

But this #budget2026 undercuts the RZLT by bringing in loopholes to allow more and more landowners to postpone payment. 1/2

Over the summer, the Government raided the Climate & Nature fund to pay for gaps in their infrastructure bill. Today's Budget could have fixed that and committed new investment for nature and the environment.
Unfortunately, there has been no change in their approach. A wasted opportunity.

Myself and the Greens worked out how to give more to small biz while spending a third of what they've just announced.

It was just one of many ways you could target the scheme properly. But they're just doing a big, expensive cut.

Big surpluses make lazy politicians.

I still can't believe that they're doing this. Giving a massive VAT tax break that'll do very little for small cafés and restaurants, while giving millions to big chains.

Weak, unfocused governance. They're too comfortable chucking out our tax money.

The GRA was passed in 2015 with very little fanfare following years of courageous campaigning by trans people. We have yet to see any negative ramifications in society - and we won't.

We simply *cannot* have a President of Ireland who speaks about trans women or their human rights in this way.

I'm not linking to the article but Heather Humphries thinks the Gender recognition act needs to be looked at, and trans women are not women. #Aras25 #SpeirGorm

Let’s not kid ourselves there isn’t something very sinister about allowing city centres to be covered by tricolours erected by the Far Right in Ireland and few moves to take them down. The national flag is not the problem but how it’s being used as an intimidatory and exclusionary symbol.

Last word on Jim Gavin-the former tenant & money story was important but his lack of answer/evasion around the #womenofhonour question is more revealing for me- both of Gavin & the media. The media ran with the money, the issue of violence against women, nothing, just ignored, typical #aras25 #speirgorm

#Aras25 Gavin's name will be on the ballot as the list was set on close of nominations. He can't withdraw. He is as the Americans put it "suspending his campaign".
