15 years ago, I introduced my Lobbying Ban after I saw the "pay-to-play" politics in Washington up close.
It was clear then that we weren't doing enough to stop it. It's even clearer today.
I am glad @neguse.house.gov and @ocasio-cortez.house.gov are now championing this fight in the House.

Another aspect of the emergency order DeSantis is misusing to seize the land where immigrants are being detained in the Everglades is that he is also using it to award multi-million dollar contracts to politically connected vendors without a competitive bidding process.
How did a Jacksonville consulting firm land a $78M contract for critical services at ‘Alligator Alcatraz’?
It’s not clear how Critical Response Strategies landed the work or whether it previously handled managing a detention facility. However, staffers from the firm have a visible presence at the center.

ICE agents in Worcester, Massachusetts arrested a mother outside of her home with her newborn baby and 16 year old daughter.
The 16 year old stood in front of the ICE vehicle holding the baby.
She handed the baby to a neighbor & fled.
