The Washington House of Representatives has passed legislation setting goals that could more than double service and significantly shrink travel times on Amtrak Cascades. The Washington State Senate still needs to sign off on the legislation.

Similar point. People get more upset about 5 story infill than they do about a single family home or a fast food joint being renovated despite the latter directly contributing to displacement.
we lost the plot when it became more sinister for a childless tech worker to buy a 1br in a "tower" on former industrial land than for them to buy a 4 br in the suburbs
