From May to September 1967, 100 men on 10 provincial/territorial teams took part in the Voyageur Centennial Canoe Pageant.
The longest canoe race in history, it went from Rocky Mountain House, AB to Montreal.
This is the story of one epic competition.

Canadian folk singer Stan Rogers died in a fire aboard Air Canada Flight 797 in Cincinnati. Born in 1949 in Hamilton, his music blended Canadian history and culture. Today, he is celebrated as one of Canada's greatest musicians.

My Great Uncle's commemorative medal awarded by the King & Queen of Belgium to survivors of the Zeebrugge Raid 23 April 1918.
3/ Also, a medal issued to my great-uncle LtCmdr Herbert Gibson RN, for participating in the Zeebrugge Raid, 23 Apr 1918. The medal was made from German guns from the harbour mole, and was presented by the King & Queen of Belgium on 23 Apr 1925. Maybe someone in @greatwargroup.bsky.social has more?

A great set of SWW OS maps that once belonged to Lt-Col GM Carrie, OBE, the founding force behind the survey capability in the Cdn Army. Ten volumes cover the UK (England and Wales) in swaths that run from the south coast to Manchester. He commanded the 1st Survey Regt RCA and later worked at CMHQ.
