—if you want to concentrate them instead of letting them remain scattered in odd clumps. Snowdrops don’t mind being dug up while their leaf is still green; in fact, for some reason which I do not attempt to explain, it is the only way they enjoy removal.

The most I do for them is to cut off their spent flowers to save them the effort of seeding and make them a present of their green leaves necessary to the development of the bulb underground. These leaves look untidy for a bit, I know. On no account cut them off. #gardening

Nerine sarniensis also got itself distributed into northern waters a good way short of its intended destination, for in 1659 it was washed up unnoticed on Guernsey, where to everybody’s astonishment it flowered in its natural season a few months later.

Aside from the obvious direct harm, what's so irritating is that a handful of spoiled ignorant assholes are breaking things that we all built together. They weren't content to own almost everything, they had to wreck what little they didn't own. It's vandalism on a mass scale and has to be punished
