They could withdraw unanimous consent from everything that comes before the senate. They could stop voting for his cabinet picks. There are plenty of options. They correctly said before the election that Trump was a threat to democracy, but they’re unwilling to behave like it now.

Black history isn’t confined to a month—it’s woven into the fabric of American culture every single day. From music to movements, innovation to influence, Black contributions shape the world. Erasing a date on a calendar doesn’t erase history. It’s here. It’s now. It’s always.

it is honestly kind of striking to me that the founders were basically on target re: “things that could end our republic”
well, the founders’ nightmare of a foreign born subversive with no inherent loyalty to america grabbing power now looks very relevant. however they didn’t predict he would be a dope fiend too

Hey Minnesota, Michigan, New York & neighbors—take a minute today to check your freeze & power outage kits. If Trump’s tariffs hit & Canada pulls the plug, you don’t want to be caught unprepared. Extra batteries, blankets, food, & a backup plan could make all the difference. #StayReady

Idgaf I’m still fighting for guaranteed healthcare.

Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.”

We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽

Somebody yelled at me for posting about Ganymede instead of /the state of things/ last night.

I know we’re (almost) all on the same page here, but a Bluesky without cute cats, science facts, and dumb jokes would be bad for everyone.

When I was a kid, around 1,800,000 people died every year of tuberculosis. Now, around 1,250,000 do.

That's important progress. But at this current rate, it'll take a CENTURY to push TB deaths much below 500,000 per year. That's totally unacceptable for a curable, preventable disease.

I hope my wife knows that when I say, “…and it turns out that double-stranded DNA viruses probably evolved completely independently from RNA viruses making them, in a sense, entirely different categories of disease…” what I really mean is, “I love you.”

Discuss their sentimental value, their rarity, their histories, then build amazing book nooks and shelves and little libraries to organize them

I keep reading that this is a place for kinder people, but gentle souls have always been among us. We just couldn’t hear them anymore. Perhaps our gathering here is proof that we missed those voices. What a wonderful thing to believe about ourselves. It can be a bold move to choose kindness.

I am tired of being manipulated everywhere I go. That’s why I like it here, I feel like I’m in charge for once.

You’ll never believe what I did next:

I pissed. I washed my hands. I nodded to them on the way out, and I went on about my day because I’m not a fucking psychopath who cares what bathroom people use.
