Do you remember Betty Reid Soskin? She was the oldest serving National Park Ranger in the United States, we celebrated her retirement at the age of 100.

Betty Reid Soskin (1921–2025) passed away on Sunday, but she lived an extraordinary life.

“Is it frivolous to worry about art when the world is on fire? The Franklin D. Roosevelt administration didn’t think so. Fantastic and easy to understand analysis.
If you’re trying to catch up on what went down with #SNAP late last night at #SCOTUS, here’s my attempt to read the breadcrumbs on the “administrative stay” issued by Justice Jackson—and why a justice so critical of the Court’s grants of emergency relief to Trump still granted temporary relief here:
190. SNAP WTF?
A very quick explainer on why Justice Jackson issued an "administrative stay" in the SNAP case late on Friday night, and on what's likely to happen next

If SNAP benefits vanished tomorrow, feeding 42 million Americans for a month would cost about $7.8 billion. That’s less than 1% of the combined net worth of the three richest men in the U.S. A reminder of how obscene inequality has become and how easily hunger could be solved if we chose to.

This is what they have now. There are no ideas, only "oh you don't like that? Then I'll do it more." That's the sum total of the right's brain trust now
It is a scandal totally unprecedented in history that the Vice President has shared a video depicting the President as king. It’s an obscene violation of every founding American principle.

And nothing will come of it. It makes me physically sick.

Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

Long thread.
