Huge loss for WDRB. @jriley.bsky.social is one of the top investigative reporters in the state. I hope he keeps reporting on Kentucky.

Some professional news: After 12 + years, today is my last day at WDRB News. First, thanks to Barry Fulmer, Bill Lamb and Jen Keeney for the vision to join print & TV journalists together (at a local level) and then giving us the time and freedom to do important, indepth work.

I fight the urge to say something like this every time I see a journalist describe their work as "Pulitzer Prize-nominated." Congrats on paying the entry fee, I guess!

It being Nobel Prize week reminds me of this great NYT headline from last year:
Nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize? Wait Until You Receive It to Brag
Thousands of people, including university professors, can submit nominations. Hundreds are submitted per year.

New: Amy McGrath is back.

Here's what the "battle-tested" candidate had to say about her decision to run for McConnell's seat again, the issues & her response to people groaning about the 2020 fundraising "waste."

Or lemongrass tea, which I make by just boiling lemongrass for a few minutes because it's better than anything sold in tea bags.
tessaduvall.bsky.social
Hmm. I think they're different enough that liking one is not a guarantee of liking the other.

Since both the teas you like so far are herbal, you might like Twinings' lemon ginger tea. It's pretty inoffensive (I also don't like hibiscus) and good with some honey mixed in.

I really like hojicha, which is a toasted green tea. Tastes exactly like it sounds, so proceed accordingly. Can probably find it at any Asian grocery store.

Seven years ago today, Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi was tortured, murdered and then dismembered. And any so-called comedian who can't stand up tonight in Riyadh and do ten minutes on that kind of hijinx and horseplay just isn't worth the Saudi blood money he's being paid.
