The Trump shit video is basically this, but I will reiterate that if a Dem is critical of conservative voters it’s a generational scandal and when Republican pols literally post themselves shitting on their opposition virtually the entire elite politics and media class treats it as fine and normal

Last June, more than 5 million Americans joined #NoKings rallies across the country, protesting President Trump's authoritarianism. And this Saturday, with your help, it's going to be even bigger and better.

One of my favorite things about NYC is how a large portion of the art made about it boils down to "people go completely bonkers in the heat:"
Do The Right Thing
Rear Window
Dog Day Afternoon
12 Angry Men
The Warriors
Great Gatsby
Taxi Driver
Summer of Sam
West Side Story

The lack of algorithm on Bluesky tells me that we were fools to accept it elsewhere. We all now talk about how Musk uses it to suppress dissent on twitter, but he hardly invented it. Letting someone else set parameters for what you see is maybe the most poisonous thing that social media normalised.

weren't we NOT blowing up rockets, like, 50 years ago. weren't we successfully sending rockets up that did not rattle apart. also weren't we like "ah yeah that was a fail" when the rocket fell apart instead of calling it a "partial success"

Brian Eno Calls On Microsoft To Cease Partnership With Israel, Will Donate Windows ‘95 Chime Fee To Victims In Gaza
Art-music master Brian Eno is the composer of what might be one of the most-heard pieces of music in history, even if much of the world doesn’t necessarily process it as a piece of music. Eno made the...

The attack on DEI shows why liberals should stop arguing about "strategic" use of language forever. DEI stands for three uncontroversial virtues that most every American accepts, and the right still turned it into a vile slur. It doesn't matter what you say - they will poison it because YOU said it.

people who say “why do we need [fine arts, humanities degrees, mid-budget films] when they don’t make a ton of money?” are insufferable. why do we need chrysanthemums? why do we need bonfires or baleen whales or the color blue? we just do. we just do.

For years, the public has called them "fake artists." But internally at Spotify, the program has name: Perfect Fit Content. My investigation, and the first look into my book Mood Machine, is the January cover at @harpers.bsky.social
