The Pulitzers are bringing back Beat Reporting as a category and smooshing the two opinion categories into one.

For all of us who prize reporting over gasbaggery, this is a very welcome change!

My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

The new US National Security Strategy makes for scary reading. I wrote about how the US wants to support forces in Europe to tear itself apart back in November 2024, and last May. This NSS confirms that's exactly the US objective for Europe.

In some ways there’s no more fascinating thing that has happened in the last 20 years than the pivot these guys have all made from “Islam, like Christianity, is a bunch of made up BS for losers” to “Christianity is a bunch of made up BS for losers like me, and that’s why we need to ban Muslims.”
new atheism was splintered by the wedge issue of "is islam worse than american christofascism"

Miles Taylor: "I co-wrote Trump's anti-terrorism plan. He's not trying to stop 'left-wing' terrorism. He's STAGING it. His troop deployments are false flag, to provoke a response in order to justify harsh crackdowns." Don't let him do it quietly! Trump & Hogshit are staging crimes against humanity.

The top-10 carmakers by market cap make up 75% of global passenger car sales.

Tesla makes up less than 2%.

The Tesla bubble will be widely documented in history books.

"Our primary-care doctors are paid about as well as they are in other countries. It’s our specialists, our executives, and in particular, the vast array of health-care middlemen that we have that are not only paid more, but don’t exist in other countries. That’s a big driver of the cost."

In "Romney, A Reckoning," Mitt Romney revealed that the threat of political violence kept many Republicans senators from voting for impeachment in in 2021. At least, that's what they said to justify their vote.
I used to think Republicans fell in line because they feared Trump would attack them in a primary election. Now, I realize it's much worse. They are physically afraid of Trump's supporters and the risk of violence.

The ongoing American experiment with Peronism continues to fascinate…
In 1973-74, sometimes Peron had mentally good days and sometimes bad ones. Foreign dignitaries had to be aware. His actual succession, versus the legal one to his wife and Vice President, still remained unclear: an eternal problem with charismatic populist leaders.
