People also “think within the frame” of democracy. It’s also a compelling narrative. The right to protest your government is a key part of democracy, within that frame Good was exercising her protected rights and acting as a citizen in the best way. She was murdered for being a good citizen.

ICE are thug scum
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

A credulous media will be the death of the Republic
Why would Trump stop lying? It's worked for him so far.
Lying has helped him avoid almost all accountability as a sex predator.
Lying has made him billions.
Lying got him out of felonies that would put anyone else in prison.
Lying has made him so powerful that most media won't call his lies "lies."

Jesus Christ. We live in an attention economy and the power to command the public mind is the power to attract attention. Democrats have adopted ANTI-attentional politics, where they dodge away from any matter of public interest in favor of pathetic, empty, lukewarm slogans that everyone tunes out.
They literally all had a zoom meeting or something

Tl;dr3: The only way to fix this, aside from root-and-branch reform of our legislative & electoral institutions, is for people to go to jail for the rest of their lives for these unprecedented unconstitutional crimes. I won't hold my breath. We haven't ever done that, in our long history.

The stakes have been raised. The Democrats have got to run on putting these people in prison. They have to. Jobs, food, all the rest, but shooting a mother in the head on a public street? None of this Garland stuff. "The full force of the government will be brought to bear" on this and similar.

Trump wants to boost the U.S. military budget from the already record ~$1 trillion per year to $1.5 trillion. (He says it can be done while paying down debt, which is not based in mathematical reality: national debt has risen by ~$2 trillion since Trump was sworn in a year ago.)

The same people who spent yesterday, and the past five years, insisting a Black police officer who shot an insurrectionist breaking into the Capitol should be prosecuted are today bending over backwards to defend an ICE agent who shot a woman in her car in cold blood.

Scum.

Emily Heller, an eyewitness, is speaking out to set the record straight. Officers were screaming at Renee Nicole Good, “Move, move, move.”

So she moved, and they shot her multiple times? Then Noem and Trump branded her a domestic terrorist. Does everyone see how absolutely insane that sounds?

I know pedocon’s real and all, but it’s insane the Jan 6 pardon covered ~ 1500 people and there are now at least a half dozen since arrested for child sex crimes. That’s one in every 250! Over the course of a year!

I think Pitcairn Island is the only population beating that per capita rate.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

Correct. And I spent a lot of years being called a pedant for saying "stop using the word terrorism so recklessly"
Because we spent two decades calling anything we didn't like terrorism, the leaders of the federal government are all over the news today calling a terrified woman in a car....a terrorist.

Basically, yes. Federal agents in the performance of their duties cannot be subject to state prosecution

Some federal cases here: bsky.app/profile/greg...

You'd argue murder isn't within the scope of their duties

What is the argument for supremacy clause immunity (IANAL)?

That execution of federal laws allows feds to violate state law up to and including murder?

File subpoenas. When they're ignored, arrest the people ignoring them for obstruction. Run the same playbook.

Given the masks and wall of obstruction that will go up, what are the odds of even identifying the perpetrator? Are there tools a state AG might use to force this?
