In an era of normalized cruelty, resistance also means being uncommonly kind and witnessing the wonderful. 🦋
No one wants to build a better world with you if you ridicule and dehumanize them in this one.

The vitriol directed at individual fans of the most popular female artist in the world is not a good look for us.

Do better or we’re doing the work of the far right for them.

A must read! Many excellent points made, here’s one I found myself nodding to:

“Given the horrific state of the world right now, it would do us all some good to see each other as people first and foremost, regardless of what entertainers we enjoy.”
oh hey that’s me 😌 essentially, the internet tried to ruin my taylor swift release week and it pissed me off so bad that i accidentally became a good writer lowkey

Sen. Booker just broke the record for the longest floor speech in Senate history—a record set by Strom Thurmond trying to block the Civil Rights Act. The irony ain’t lost on us. From fighting against justice to fighting for it. This is what courage & being on the right side of history looks like!

Someone, and I don't recall who, said "AI art made me believe in the idea of the soul, by showing me what art looked like without one."

And I fully stand with the person who, when asked about AI 'books,' said "Why would I want to read what nobody wanted to write?"

I wonder how many signal messages are being sent today by our highest ranking government officials directing actions taken in our names, with our money, that we’ll never read, never be able to FOIA request, and that they’ll say “never occurred,” all while those actions play out on the nightly news.

Describe Taylor Swift in one lyric.

I'll go first: "And at last, she knew what the agony had been for."

In an era of destruction, creativity is an act of resistance.

It’s easy to destroy things. It’s more challenging to create meaningful things.

Be up for the challenge. 💜

Just found out that, before the Civil War, it was more common to refer to the U.S. as a plural, "The United States are..." but gradually, after the Civil War, we switched to referring to the U.S. in the singular, which is kinda grammatically incorrect, but better reflects the political reality.
