kind of seems like a cruel joke that my local “neighborhood greenway” is a street with no sidewalks, no traffic calming, and no storm drains, basically guaranteeing I will get splashed by cars during the ~10 minute walk down its length on my way to the MAX train

$25/250. Thank you for the help so far.
Thanks for this. Trying to raise $250 for various bills. I'm a caregiver for my mom, who had a stroke, but don't qualify to be compensated by a health insurer. Grateful for any help anyone can spare.

On the day that @opb.org CEO Rachel Smolkin posted this video, saying OPB’s funding gap of $5 million was closed, I was also told by the Chief Content Officer that Hush was canceled. Eighty percent of my income, and my health insurance - gone. I was given no reason for the cancellation. 1/x

Meanwhile, a different faculty member posted on X basically saying that if Palestinians could learn, they wouldn't be Palestinians. To my knowledge, that person is not on leave which might lead thinking people to question the university's lack of consistency in how it disciplines people.
The tort claim notice alleges the university violated Dr. Hanoosh’s legal rights, including state laws prohibiting discrimination based on national origin and the First Amendment.

Even by the standards of The Atlantic, this is an extraordinarily weak evidence base for an article.

Data from a tiny handful of schools that isn't measuring the variable at issue and a few thin, secondhand anecdotes.

This is what frustrates me so much about these articles: Propagating the narrative that large numbers of kids are faking disabilities is just going to result in a world where disabled people are *even more* scrutinized when they ask for accommodations!
My kids go to a "rich" public school. My daughter is 7 and cannot read; she is a sweet, caring, intelligent child, but if you spend a moment with her it is clear that she has ADHD an order of magnitude more serious than what you think of when you hear "ADHD." Anybody questioning her IEP can fuck off
"Rich kids are gaming disability accommodations to gain an unfair advantage" is actually very different from "America has an extra-time-on-tests problem" — and the author hasn't proved that either! Rich kids might just be more likely to be diagnosed.
