Dusty May is a very clear example of how even mildly separating yourself from navel-gazing about Your Glorious Past doesn’t preclude tremendous results that meaningfully engage fans and alumni. Whether anyone around the football program is willing to learn that lesson *even now* is another story.

I'm pretty wary of connecting anything about this Moore case to the sign-stealing or anything else. Gets a little too real too quick when alleged real-world criminality is compared to acting like a mafioso but in NCAA fake court. However I don't see why Warde Manuel should get to keep hiring people

If the regents only like to take action around football matters, perhaps they could consider the additional goodwill that would come of banning Portnoy and Lewan from campus.

College football is too big to fail. The NFL is completely reliant on it as a developmental league / talent pool. Backwards looking “it’s over” takes in the wake of Utah’s PE deal, continued conference spasms, and an embarrassing postseason structure enervate me because the real horrors are to come!

A 12 team playoff works if you have normal sized conferences and the point of conference play is to win a conference championship. The sport is trying to do 4 different things at the same time, always, because money. 🤷♂️

it really does seem like the only people who have any possibility of getting anything from going to college now are conservative christians who want to set up their grievance grift backstory/get any non white/christian/conservative/straight faculty fired
TX Tech has a flow chat for guidance on what can be taught in the university system. Two things:
1. Very little content seems to be permitted. This is partisan control of the curriculum.
2. I would not enjoy teaching under these conditions, but I really would not want to be a Chair or Dean.
