I haven’t been giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to IU (or any money for that matter) but earlier this week I told the Alumni Association that I’m no longer volunteering my time for an institution that is hurting students like this and it feels good not to be alone on this

Oh, it’s absolutely the time I scored a six-run inside the park homerun (it was California Kickball rules, so you you could have as many runners as you wanted on any base) inside a basketball gym during like 4th grade

i'll take this a step further and say the smaller and more regionally important the city they're afraid of, the more embarrassed they should be. what do you mean you don't want to get out of your car driving through Tulsa
We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.
