Every time someone complains about Southside train station names, we should rename another station. Shawlands becomes Pollokshaws North; Queens Park becomes Pollokshields South; Glasgow Central becomes Pollokshields North. https://www.glasgowbell.co.uk/pollok-southside-train-station-names/
Who Polloksed up the Southside’s station names?
Four almost identically named train stations lie within two miles of each other. Why?

The UK is failing fathers and families with its derisory paternity leave policies.

2 weeks is out of step with other countries and modern realities.

A minimum of 6 weeks would allow families to bond and support one another through life-changing events without worrying about bills.
Paternity pay in UK is one of the lowest in the developed world, MPs say
Sarah Owen, chairwoman of the Women and Equalities Committee, said the UK's parental leave system was in "urgent need of an overhaul to fit with the reality of working parents' lives".

It’s almost like designing cities around cars rather than people is bad in so many ways
Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people.

Good trade.

As someone who has cycled in London for over 45 years, I’ve noticed the positive difference in both cycle infrastructure and in the number of cyclists.

I very much welcome moves to continue to make cycling in London safer.

Great news: Cycling in London is gaining momentum.

Every day, 1.33 million journeys are made by bike in the capital—that’s an increase of 26% since 2019.

I’ll keep working hard with boroughs to make our streets even safer, encouraging more Londoners to travel on two wheels.

Not always about bikes. Just posts from women who think biking is a normal way to get around.

So why aren't we making it easier for people to cycle?

When we introduced fit for work assessments, we were told nobody who was genuinely disabled would be denied disability benefits because there would be safeguards, and then people died because they were denied disability benefits. You see the problem with assisted dying "safeguards" yet?
