New: Apple banned an app that simply archived videos of ICE abuses. Rather than other apps that record ICE official's real-time location, Eyes Up is to "preserve evidence until it can be used in court." Videos from TikTok etc. Every submission manually reviewed

The recent ICE raid which emptied an entire apartment building was apparently at the request of Wells Fargo, which is trying to foreclose on the building.

The reason for Amazon vs bookstore is Ingram Spark, another billionaire-owned monopoly, which is the only real way for a book to be orderable in a bookstore, takes a big cut.

You should definitely buy through a bookstore if you can! Because it supports bookstores!

I'm feeling this more than ever since I moved to SLO. I'm a civil engineering professor with a good salary, and the rent on my modest (and slightly dated) 2br condo is FORTY percent of my take-home pay. And that's before utilities. How most people survive, esp single parents, is beyond me.
